Table For One

Subject: Table For One July 11th 2011, 1:38 am

I can't believe she said "yes"
I was so scared to ask
When she did I almost fainted
I needed an oxygen mask

Louie says I need to know her better
"But I've known her for years", I say
Louie is just trying to cause trouble
So I ask Louie to go away

She's the only one I want near me
She is the only one who understood
With one hand, I touch the other
It tingles, God how that feels good...

"We just gotta have a big wedding
I'm so in love with you dear!"
Then Jerry spoke up, said;
"you really should wait another year"

But I told Jerry I can't wait
"I've found the girl I've dreamed of -
Even an hour away hurts my heart
Everyone can see I am in love"

Eventually everyone agreed it was for the best
There is only one person left in opposition
Personally, I really don't care what he says
But legally, I need his permission

He happens to be my psychiatrist
Treating me for multiple personality disorder
He says he won't allow me to "marry myself"
Even if he has to get a court order

But Bugsy's gonna take care of him
Next week, during our session
By the time he wakes up in the trunk of my car
He will wish he was in a different profession

And I will be married to my other self
Living in my head's imaginary commune
My other personalities better cover their eyes
On the night of my honeymoon..

A fun idea and write but also, a sad condition, Daniel. The story flow and rhyme are good. I was starting to wonder how many more personalities would emerge but it ended in time. Imaginative writing, H x

Very cleverly written and well rhymed throughout, I have been drawn back to this poem several times.

Funnily enough all my personalities enjoyed this one. A very clever write my friend.

I never wanted to write this post. Life, however, brings to us changes of necessity, not changes we want.

Unfortunately, and as evidenced by the past few months' activities, I do not have the time to properly govern the use of this site anymore. While there are visitors every day, the posts by members are becoming fewer and farther between, and the staff participation is just as sparse.
