Monkey To You Empty
PostSubject: Monkey To You   Monkey To You EmptyMarch 16th 2010, 7:49 am

Chained to the desk
I am a Lobotomized monkey
Chained to the Keyboard.
I clock in, I clock out.
I move along.
I arrive in the dark,
I exit in the dark.
You look around,
You can see my mark.

It is rubbings on my keyboard
Left from years of use
And I sit there and take
People’s verbiage abuse.

In one ear it goes
And out the other
They carry on for
Family, spouse or mother.

I enter data at lightning speed
Double check the accuracy
I have to read.
They all demand in such short time
The cut off or click it with speed.

I get fed once or twice
Coffee and a banana will do
Once in a while I look outside
To see a patch of blue.
This is what you call an office person -
It is lobotomized monkey to you.

Fortunately i have been spared life in an office, sometimes though it has seemed quite appealing to me, in the warm, sitting down etc. However having read this i think perhaps not. Loved the pain in this.

Monkey To You Empty

I can so remember this feeling, I've been there once before and done that, I just never got paid for it..

typing is so rare for me at my current job I jump at every chance I can to sit behind a keyboard.. I type out notes that could have easily been written simply because I believe I type faster than I write.

but at the same time, to just go to work.. do what you have to do.. go home, repeat the next day.. yes, this I know too well..

I'm seriously trying to figure out how I can change my career, I have now looked to other careers which I used to think would be the last thing I would ever do in life..

enjoyed this poem, and the frustration in it shows very much.

take care,

~ Daniel

Hehehe, I see they were right, when they said, if you put a monkey and a typewriter in a room, it could eventually produce Shakespeare... Wink

Hah! I finally found your monkey poem. I love the cadence of the poem, plus it
has a soft lilting voice
Exalt!
Here's LOOKING at you "lobotomized monkey"
and I mean that in the nicest way!
