| Midnight. “Did you put the cat out”? “Did you lock the door”? “Did you turn the lights off”? “Don’t you love me anymore”? ~ One a.m. “Am I’m putting weight on”? “Do I need a brand new hair do”? “I haven’t got a thing to wear” “But you don’t care, do you”? ~ Two a.m. “You haven’t done that dripping tap” “Or fixed the microwave” “Your lazy and bone idle” “And you treat me like a slave” ~ 3 months later Not a gap between the silences Release from gibbering hell Peace, quiet and solitude In his happy prison cell | |
