| Mouthy Maud
Have you seen that new pair Maud, Just moved down our street Five minutes they’ve been in there, and they’re changing everything!
I think they’ve got a bob or two, You seen that car she drives? I mean to say, it’s all for show, Who needs a car that size
And have you heard the latest, they’ve applied to drop the kerb, Off road parking if you like, I ask you, What a nerve!
The poor sod’s got his work cut out, It’s not for me to say, But he needs to keep an eye on her - she must be half his age
And I s'pose she’s quite attractive in a brassy sort of way!
It’s not that I am jealous Maud, I don’t care what they’ve got, You know that envy’s not my style, I’m happy with my lot!
Guess what!!
I’ve had an invitation Maud, came through the door today, Housewarming party if you like, well I’m not one to socialise I’ll probably just pop along - Just to be polite.
(Next day)
Well Maud, I tell you, what a do! They laid on quite a spread, Such a pleasant couple too, next time I’ll not listen to you,
I’ll judge people for myself instead!!!!
Honestly Maud, that mouth of yours!

| lol I like how it's Maud who is supposedly the mouthy one, yet it's the other that does all the talking and assuming . . . reminds me of some folks in real life!! Nice write, thanks for the laugh. | |

| Wow... how you captured in this poem how fickle people are... they say one thing,, then they change like the wind and try to pass it on to someone else as saying the bad things... Human nature with humor. Loved it! EXALT! |

| A great account of a curtain-twitcher and the turnaround at the end is very funny | |

Had We But Worlds Enough, And Time . . . | November 5th 2013, 11:57 am by Jamie | I never wanted to write this post. Life, however, brings to us changes of necessity, not changes we want.
Unfortunately, and as evidenced by the past few months' activities, I do not have the time to properly govern the use of this site anymore. While there are visitors every day, the posts by members are becoming fewer and farther between, and the staff participation is just as sparse.
