Well, the mods on the help forum say that no one really knows how much it'll hold. Some people have over 1000 PM's. Even though they're only supposed to hold 50.

If you want to save any PM's click the box for them and hit "Save Marked" at the bottom.

Uploading pictures.

Daniel told me we could upload pictures directly without using a host such as photobucket. Well ive tried but to no avail, if I click on host image it opens a box for an Australian hosting site.
I did however upload my avatar without a hosting site, so whats afoot?

srvimg is the default host. Does it ask you to join or anything? Or can you just upload like I can? You browse for your image on your computer, upload, click host it, and copy the url for posting.

Perhaps I should have said, "without going to another site" to host.

Ahhh now I understand. I think ill stick with photobucket then all my pics are there.

I wonder why i could upload my Avatar directly without using a host!

Next: How come your age shows under your Avatar (Jamie), I can see no place in the profile to add ones age, is this an executive privlage?

Can we sell our Karma points to other users?

If you put your birthday in your profile it will display your age. Look again in your profile--there are several tabs.

Um, I dunno. I didn't notice a difference, myself. Avatars are stored in the same place, I thought.

What board is that reply in that you can't edit? Or is it all boards? That should be an easy fix, I must've missed a checkbox in the permissions somewhere.

hey Jamie i found out the hard way that your username/display name are the same thing. I didn't know if it would be possible to change it from witheredrose to Sarah since everyone on here knows me anyway and if they don't i'm sure they will. If you can't it's fine just let me know if you can.

Two things.

One I can find no place for date of birth.

Two, Avatars (or is it Avati?) seem to be a special case and there is a specific box which says "Upload from your computer" i did mine without using a host site. Now if this is true why cant all pictures be uploaded this way?

And three, there is no third thing (yet)

Yes, Sarah, they're the same. Sorry, usernames can't be changed from the name you use to join. You can add what you'd like to your Profile note and/or sign your posts as Sarah and we'll all know you.

Foggy, edit is "Edit" here, not modify. It's on RHS top of posts.
DOB is in your Profile ("Birthday").
When you have the right url, pictures should upload without being hosted. Pls let us know which ones can't.

Dearest Harklight, Had the big red word EDIT been where you say it is I wouldnt be asking where is it. It is not in my replies to this thread, but seems to be ok in others.

Similarly had DOB been in my profile you would all be seeing that i am 30 ish.
Im sure you are plagued with silly questions at the moment but rest assured i do not ask a question until I have spent many hours of intensive research. I have the unique ability to usualy be wrong in cases like this and I may well be, but I truly can find no DOB question in my profile.

Okay you should be able to edit your comments in this thread now.

And you should be able to modify more fields in your profile now. There were a couple I had to turn on by hand.

An observation. This new site seems to refresh the pages and show new pages much quicker than the old site, which is of course ..er...refreshing.

Ok more questions,

If I go to "who's online" a very wonderful thing happens, I get a google map with a sticker showing my location. However imagine my shock and horror when I found two drfoggs, one in the Yorkshire dales and one in the industrial heart of Birmingham when in fact I am in Torquay Devon. (so there may be three Dr Foggs). My question is who are these other two? are they doubles of me? where am I? could google send me somewhere warmer? These things worry me.

well Foggy, I don't know how to break it too you but we have made clones of you.. it was real easy to talk your wife into letting us clone you when you were asleep, I think she thought one of the three of you might get the trash out on time.. but anyway.. now that you are in on the "secret" I have to tell you the worse part.. we lost track between the three of you which one is the real Dr. Fogg...



un-officially, however, I think if you have someone living with-in a couple hundred miles of you, their little arrow will show almost above yours and it is very hard to click pass the one that is in front of the other..

also.. for people who have dial-up, the google bot thingy registers one number.. if chance you go into the portal for a while and come back into the map thingy, it may come back under another number.. making it look like you are online twice..

Okay, I can't find it but I know it's out there.....how do I nominate a piece for poem of the week?
