The British Stiff Upper Lip
We Brits seem to do disaster best Our finest hour is often when we fail We lost the entire light Brigade And shouted “what heroes”,” Hail”.
We got our arses soundly kicked On the Dunkirk killing ground What a brilliant thing we said Such heroism is rarely found.
Now Andy Murray has lost at Wimbledon He WAS a hero, he took it on the chin By British standards anyway It’s not polite to win. Dr Fogg | |

| now just keep this in mind when the next world cup comes around, quite enjoyable my friend.. I do think that often people forget that trying your hardest makes you a winner regardless of any trophy.

| You never fail to surprise with your pieces. I know there is always a criticism and I simply love that in your pieces. Great poem my friend. | |

| Your right doc we have always had some of the best spin doctors around but the Battle of Britain followed Dunkirk, same odds, different result.
As for our ‘hero’ Murray no doubt he will console himself with the 20 million dollars he will make this year.

| Yes, he gets 20 Million and that very attractive girlfriend, but I am down on the deal because I smoked 20 extra ciggys just watching it. | |

| We Brits stick to what we know: disappointment.
Ha! Love it. It's so true. We love a challenge, if it means we can get silly and put union jack bunting up? Job's a good 'un. There's always next time eh?
Brilliant piece of poetry!

| We even lost our Empire, but are we downhearted - "NOoooo" - just broke. Loved the sarcasm in this one Norman

Had We But Worlds Enough, And Time . . . | November 5th 2013, 11:57 am by Jamie | I never wanted to write this post. Life, however, brings to us changes of necessity, not changes we want.
Unfortunately, and as evidenced by the past few months' activities, I do not have the time to properly govern the use of this site anymore. While there are visitors every day, the posts by members are becoming fewer and farther between, and the staff participation is just as sparse.
