Mona Lisa Is Smiling At Me...How can it be? tell me it's not true
I've seen a painting that makes faces at you
I looked at it sideways, with one eye shut
I even told my brother, (he thinks I'm a nut)
He doesn't believe me, said I spent "
to long in the heat"
(he said something else which I'm not allowed to repeat)
I begged him to see it, but he simply won't go
He said "
pictures can't make faces, don't you know?"
So I asked my teacher, she said she would come see
As soon as school let out at a quarter past three
But then I got in a fight, I broke an important rule
I had to stay in detention for an hour after school
When I got to the museum, it had already closed
But I could see through the window how the picture was posed
It is this Mona Lisa lady, she is pulling her ears
I started laughing, it brought me to tears..
I was laughing so hard I was close to fainting
When I saw the night guard walk up and stop at the painting
He leaned over and gave her a big kiss
Her eyes got real big, her hair was amiss..
Well, this scared me bad, so I took off running
Right past my sister who was outside sunning
Right past my neighbor who was walking their dog
Up the steps to Billy's room, who was feeding his frog
"
Billy, come quickly.. there is something you GOTTA see!
A painting at the museum that makes faces at me.."
Billy looked at me, his frog started croaking
"
Let's go see!" he said, he knew I wasn't joking..
We ran to the museum, I peeked through the door
The painting was still making faces like it had before
"
It's the lady in the middle," I said, "
Mona Lisa's her name
She has long hair, she's the one in the expensive frame!"
Billy looked through the window, he didn't even flinch
Said: "
I don't see anything moving, not even an inch!"
"
But that can't be right" I said, "
let me see"
Yet when I looked again the painting was as normal as can be..
"
You are loosing it!" Billy said, "
your brains gone south"
That's when I saw Mona Lisa start poking her mouth
But I didn't tell Billy, no.. what was the use?
I could already see the lead story on the evening news
12 year old boy goes crazy, claims painting is aliveThey would lock me in the funny farm, I would be lucky to be out in five
Still I refuse to go back to the museum or anywhere near it at all
Oh crap.. I just saw my Grandfather blink in his picture on the wall..
