| We tell our tales of anger, sorrow, humour perhaps much worse. But our writing will never fill our purse.
Alas I'm just a poor poet but thats ok,my biggest reward is hearing what my fellow bards have to say. | |

| Funny how I've never thought to write for money. I just felt it was for sharing parts of me, in a way that I could not otherwise do.
The appreciation and fellowship here is truly a wonderful reward.
We are far from poor, very fortunate indeed.

| Maybe we're not paid in cash, but if it isn't rewarding we wouldn't do it. | |

| Actualy if you dont want a job and the authorities insist you try or your benefit will be cut, just tell em you want a job as a poet. Thats one job they will never be able to get you. | |

| A thoughtful piece, I’m often amused by comments such as ‘I write for myself, not for others’ then post their poems for others appreciation or, ‘I would not prostitute my poetry for mass appeal’ Really? Offer them 50 grand for a book aimed at mass appeal, then the majority would bite your arm off. | |

| I believe all writers, not just poets, write for many many reasons.. money would be nice to any of us, but if we are not offered it we won't put down the pen. fame would also be nice but not realistic but to only a few.. I think most writers move the pen because it makes them feel like they are contributing to the human existence.. that perhaps someday, something they wrote will make a difference even if it is on a small level.
we are poor poets, but we are rich in words.
enjoyed,

| Well penned. We cannot help ourselves... we must write for the love of it. And that is what counts! Well done. Enjoyed |

Had We But Worlds Enough, And Time . . . | November 5th 2013, 11:57 am by Jamie | I never wanted to write this post. Life, however, brings to us changes of necessity, not changes we want.
Unfortunately, and as evidenced by the past few months' activities, I do not have the time to properly govern the use of this site anymore. While there are visitors every day, the posts by members are becoming fewer and farther between, and the staff participation is just as sparse.
