Happy Friday everyone! Please take a moment to read our latest Featured Poem, The Music Room by Carousal. It's a striking write that we're more than proud to feature this week. We're also going to tease you with this: we're working on a special way to request in-depth critiques on your poetry or other writing, so stay tuned for that announcement! Poetry Prompt #97: You Are My Sunshine
Many of us--the lucky ones--have happy childhood memories that are evoked by the smallest thing--a song, a sound, a smell, a place, etc. For me, the song "You Are My Sunshine" brings me right back to my earliest years; my mother would wake me up by singing this song to me. I hear it in a commercial and it makes me smile.
This week we'd like you to write a poem that incorporates something that brings you back to your own childhood. To enter, simply click on Poet Share Prompts on our front page and post your poem as a new topic!

Unfortunately, and as evidenced by the past few months' activities, I do not have the time to properly govern the use of this site anymore. While there are visitors every day, the posts by members are becoming fewer and farther between, and the staff participation is just as sparse.

It's been a busy summer for us here at Poet Share, as the sunshine has called us away more than usual. We've posted a new poetry prompt today for you summery, adventurous types.
