| I'm sure there will be a ton so let's start by asking them in this thread and I'll reply as soon as I can. This will also help us develop our new FAQ's for the site. | |

| So I understand the move is to make the coding easier for you hoss, but what does it achieve as a site, what are the pros over the cons if you don't mind me asking? | |

| We were listing those yesterday: *So many selections I'm still getting lost with them *NO CODING FOR JAMIE!! *Smilies available for all to see right over there==> *Ability to upload your own photos directly to the site *You can find all of a person's posts by clicking a link in their profile. *An adjustable, friendlier Karma system *An incorporated blog that will be more integral to the site *A Portal page (not set up yet) if we choose to use it--still exploring *Search function is immensely more reliable and not Caps-specific, making moderation potentially much, much easier. (Click the Search button, then click Advanced search and search for the username in all posts, and you'll get them all. Cons: *I can't seem to carry over the Karma from the old site, BUT you can give a lot more karma here. You have to give it inside the posts (the little plus sign at the end, it's called a Vote but I changed the display name to Karma) *Only one skin for everyone I've tried to wipe out all of the other "cons." It will take some adjustment, I know, but I believe it will be a better fit for all of us. | |

| Some more "Pro's": *We can do seasonal skin changes from hundreds of premade skins for Xmas and St Patrick's day, etc, without having to have some colors for sideboxes and such hard coded into the site. It's all plug and play here. *I happen to think having the "lastest posts" in the sidebar looks great. *Posting controls are easier to use for members (no coding knowledge necessary) and you can scroll left, right, up, or down with text unlike Proboards which only scrolls to the left. *I can port all of the smilies I've added over there to the smilie box here and put them in the dropdown and they're not forgotten or a hassle to get to, unlike Proboards. *ANOTHER cool thing, which Proboards doesn't have but just happened to me, is that if someone posts a reply while you're typing, it asks you to review their reply and see if you want to modify the one you were working on before you post it. That's pretty cool. You should be able to sticky. I'm still getting the hang of the permissions thing. Lemme check. (See, that's why we're all here first, to work the bugs out.) | |

| Found it--to sticky something after the fact, click Edit and then look for three little circles underneath the box where you type. | |

| Where is the sticky for posting if you've been published? You say at the "top of the board", but I don't see one anywhere. Thanks! | |

| Q: Is there a spell check? I cannot seem to find it. Q: I registered my name as "tamish" but would like it to me TM Tamish. Possible?
COMMENT: I know you probably wrote it somewhere, but I just cannot find it

| I'll change it for you tristan. Since username/displayname are one and the same we've had to disallow their modification by users.
The spellcheck is not integrated, but I've included a link in the upper right-hand corner Links Box to an online spellcheck.
There are many requests for Forumotion to include Spell Check in their next version, and I understand Firefox has one integrated into the browser as well.

It does. A red dotted line appears under misspelled words. Point to the word and right click. It will show you optional spellings.

| Can we boookmark our poems? They are automatically bookmarked. On the front page is a button "View Your Posts." Others may click in your profile and select "View Posts By Dr Fogg" and you'll get them. Can we have an exalt yourself button? No. Can we add little messages under our Avatar?Short ones, I think 20 or 25 characters. There is a field marked "Note:" in your profile. | |

Had We But Worlds Enough, And Time . . . | November 5th 2013, 11:57 am by Jamie | I never wanted to write this post. Life, however, brings to us changes of necessity, not changes we want.
Unfortunately, and as evidenced by the past few months' activities, I do not have the time to properly govern the use of this site anymore. While there are visitors every day, the posts by members are becoming fewer and farther between, and the staff participation is just as sparse.
